Background

The book accompanying the exhibition of the same title is a pioneering publication containing ten essays, the authors of which take up threads concerning the aesthetics of puppet theatre, its entanglement in politics, the connections between puppet theatre and photography, the phenomenon and potential of puppets, puppet theatre for adults, pedagogical aspects of puppet stages, but also the history of puppet animated films and music in puppet theatre and films.

Scope

Another book that started with me working with Jakub on exhibition design and translating ideas for editorial design. I worked with layout sketched by Kuba and spread it throughout the publication.

Outcome

Publication value is its interdisciplinary approach to a field previously relegated to the fringes of theatre history. The whole is complemented by photographic documentation of selected dolls shown at the exhibition, made by Łukasz Rusznica and Krystian Lipiec.
