Background

The exhibition entitled Seeing Stones and Spaces Beyond the Valley – the main event of the second edition of Biennale Warszawa 2022 – is devoted to relations between power, authoritarianism, capital, extractivism, and technology. This perspective is supplemented by the presentation of technological alternatives, prototypes, ideas, and speculative projects that enable us to imagine a more democratic and egalitarian future.

Scope

As part of design team led by Jakub de Barbaro my work consisted of researching illustrations from patents issued for leading US tech companies. Then I worked design small parts of website and focused on editorials and collaterals that were part of exhibition as well as translating and editing certain artworks.

Outcome

Exhibition visual identity utilized obscure illustrations found in patents granted to world’s biggest tech companies. Laconic drawing are juxtaposed with existential questions on possibles futures and our collective responsibilities.
